WELCOME

Covering Bookham and the surrounding villages, Bookham Dog Services primarily offers help for busy families and professionals to provide a happy lifestyle for their dog.

For some of us, letting someone else walk or care for your dog is more traumatic for us than it is for our dogs. So to help put your mind at ease that your beloved furry friend will be happy and in safe hands, I will meet with you and your dog, giving us all a chance to get to know each other and help me assess your specific needs.

Or let's just go for a walk with our dogs and have a chat.

Please check out my FaceBook Page for all the latest news.

SERVICES

Group Walks - £15. Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.

Your dog is walked in a small group allowing them to meet new friends and get some extra stimulation during the walk.

Generally, group walks will last between 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the group and their requirements; each walk has a maximum of 4 dogs at any time.

I am happy to have dogs off lead with your permission and also after an assessment on their initial walk with me.

Solo Dog Walk - £20. Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.

After a free initial consultation, I assess all dogs and group them into appropriate pack walks based on behaviour, age and so on. However, subject to location and current group walking schedule at the time, I can offer solo walks for nervous, elderly or in season dogs.

Ad Hoc Walks - £20 – Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm.

I have a number of clients who don’t necessarily require a regular Monday to Friday walk for their doggies but do however need their dogs walked on an occasional basis. If this sounds like you, then please get in touch.

Pop In Visits - from £15 (per visit). Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.

Not all dogs require a daily walk or in some cases they need a walk but also a little visit later in the day. So again subject to location and the schedule of the current group walks at the time, if your dog does not require a walk, I can come and visit your doggie at home, give them a play, top up water and give medication as required.

If time allows, I can take them out for a gentle leg stretch and then put them back to bed for a well earned snooze.

The Pop in Visit is particularly useful if you want a little flexibility around your schedule. For example, you may simply have popped out and want or need to stay out for longer. If a situation such as this arises, then just give me a call and if I can help out, I will.

Puppy Visits - from £15 (per visit)

I'm very used to looking after Puppies and know they need a great deal of love and attention, as well as extra mealtimes. A puppy visit includes a 10 minute walk and 10 minutes of play or training time at home. During these visits, I can also clean up any little 'accidents', leaving your home clean and fresh for you to enjoy with your puppy on your return. This service is something I can tailor to your specific needs, as each puppy's needs are going to be different depending breed and on what stage of puppyhood they are at.

Out of hours service - Weekends, Monday - Friday after 5pm.
Pop in visit - pre-booked £10, unplanned £15; Dog walk - pre-booked £15, unplanned £20.

Many families would love a dog but owning one is a huge commitment and due to the busy lives we all lead these days for some it is one of the reasons why they choose not to have a dog.

Whilst the ‘Out of Hours Service’ does not dissolve owners of the responsibility and commitment to owning a dog it does however offer a solution to planned (or in some cases unplanned !) events outside of the normal Monday to Friday / 9 to 5 services on offer.

Being a dog owner myself, I know only too well what a tie your furry friend can be at the weekends or perhaps in the evenings during the week. It’s no different from having young children and having to provide care for them should you end up having to work late or want to go out for an evening etc.

"Another successful walk with Bruce - Only the 2nd time and Bobbi was so happy to see him. We really appreciated the video Bruce took of Bobbi and it was so good to see her doing different things. Thank you." - 15th September 2017

"3 weeks with Bobbi's new best friend Bruce and she actually seems to pine for him on the days she doesn't go with him. Bruce has been so patient with her fear of cars and has very quickly got to walk her off the lead. Her most recent photo with him showed absolute joy and we have absolute confidence that our precious puppy is as well cared for and loved as we do. Thank you Bruce." - 2nd October 2017

"Bruce has taken my boys out twice now and on both occasions the walks seem to have gone completely to plan. The first time, he sent pictures of them being fed and walking with him and let me know when they were safely home which really gave me peace of mind . When I came back from work I had 'happy dogs' and didn't feel that my absense had been distressing for them in the least. Quite the reverse. Bruce said that he found them easy to take out ( so far!) and this can only mean that he is managing them well. Bravo Bruce. I think you've nailed it! Thank you very much for your help." - 23rd November 2017

"Bruce jumped in and helped me out at the last minute today . It is lovely to know that Bruce can help me at short notice in an emergency. Really helped today. Thanks Bruce" - 1st December 2017

ABOUT ME

I'm married with two children and have lived in Bookham all my life.

Having always worked in the corporate world, I reached a point where I found myself in the very fortunate position to try something new.

I have always had a keen interest in dogs. I don't think there's been a time when I haven't had a dog, whether it be my parents or my own. So it goes without say I've always loved our furry canine friends and I'm very comfortable around all breeds.

I am particularly interested in dog behaviour and how they learn. So my plan, in addition to offering Dog Walking Services, is to also offer dog behaviour consultations and one-to-one training, so watch this space!
